Glenmede Trust Company and the Quest to Boost HDHP Enrollment

Thanks to ALEX:

  • 78.4 % of employees enrolled in the HSA plan (3.8% went with the copay plan, 18% waived coverage)
  • Only 12 employees (out of 329) decided to enroll in the traditional co-pay plan.

The Problem:

In 2014, Glenmede dropped their co-pay plan and started offering an HSA plan, but employees wanted their old plan back (even if it meant paying more.)

The Plan:

In 2015, Glenmede brought back the co-pay plan, but enlisted ALEX to help employees understand how their HDHP/HSA plans worked and why it might actually be the smarter financial option.

The Solution:

ALEX interviewed each employee about their personal situations and provided recommendations on their best-fit plans. In the end, only a dozen employees returned to the co-pay plan.
