‘Twas the night after OE, when all through HR
Not an intern was stirring, not even Amar.
The medical plans had all been selected,
and tobacco certifications had all been collected.
The admins were nestled all snug in their desks,
With the scent of black coffee still on all their breaths,
And John in his neck-pillow, and I in my shawl,
Had just settled into our caffeine withdrawal.
When out in the break room arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my seat to see what was the matter.
My wondering eyes could scarce believe what they’d seen:
The Enrollment Faerie, by the vending machines.
Hers eyes were twinkling, her smile indestructible.
Her laughter as big as our med plan’s deductible.
She led me to know I had nothing to fear.
When she said: “You’ve all been very good admins this year.”
“You’ve answered their questions, you’ve sent out reminders,”
“You’ve gone to each meeting with armfuls of binders.”
“You’ve helped them pick all the benefits that they’ll use,”
“And now, my good admins, it’s YOUR turn to choose.”
“What do YOU want?” she said with a smile,
Twirling her benefits wand all the while.
We looked at each other, and made not a peep.
But spoke all as one: “We just want some sleep.”
With a smile and a flick of that wand oh-so-keen,
We collapsed there beside those vending machines.
But heard, ere that sleep overtook everyone,
“HAPPY OE TO ALL! NOW THAT OE IS DONE!”
Happy holidays, everyone…from your pals here at Jellyvision.
