Create the Illusion of AwarenessThe distinguishing power of Interactive Conversation is its ability to create the illusion that the character in the converstation is aware of the person sitting in front of the screen. In order for a conversation to simulate the way a human would respond — to make it seem like the program is truly aware of its audience — its responses must reveal real human intelligence and emotions. The key to successfully creating the illusion of awareness lies in the writing and performing of the conversation. At every moment of interaction in a conversation, the writers must ask "how would my character respond to that?" Then, the writers must script it out for an actor to perform it. Flawlessly. An interactive conversation can create the illusion of awareness by utilizing any or all of the following principles: 1. Respond to a visitor's actions. 2. Respond to a visitor's inactions. 3. Remember a visitor's past actions. 4. Respond to a series of the visitor's actions. 5. Incorporate the actual time and space that the visitor is in. 6. Compare different visitors' situations and action. Learn more about how Jellyvision creates the voodoo they do by downloading The Jack Principles of the Interactive Conversation Interface ». |
